Today is Patriot’s Day and that means it’s also the Boston Marathon and the winners are in!
Edna Kiplagat of Kenya won the women’s race! The 37-year-old mother of two finished with a time of 2:21:52. Second-place finisher Rose Chelimo of Bahrain with a finishing time 2:22:51 was followed by American Jordan Hasay who placed third in her debut appearance at Boston with a time of 2:23:00
Kenya’s Geoffrey Kirui won the men’s race, finishing in 2:09:37. American Olympian Galen Rupp, making his Boston debut, placed second crossing the finish line with at time of 2:09:58. Third place went to Suguru Osako of Japan with a finishing time of 2:10:28.
Congratulations to the podium finishers of the 121st Boston Marathon and all the other amazing runners on the course. We’re impressed by anyone with the mettle to run 26.2 miles.
